Many of our comrades are graduating this year. This current semester, it seems as though everyone’s been stepping up their steez and going all out on their work. Expanding skills, pushing boundaries, experimenting various compositions, and going Tribe on the detail.

I was going through my archives and found a throw back picture of me back in 2008 shot by photographer Conor Wooten.
Time is a ridiculous thing. 2008 was when Wild Man Design Tribe was born. I look at my self in the picture and wonder what the hell was I doing. I seriously can’t understand what was going through my head those days…
On February 15th, Adam Jasen of WMDT featured works in Columbia College’s exhibition “Art of Play 5.” Contact Adam Jansen if interested in purchasing prints
“Now in it’s 5th year, the purpose of Art of Play is to explore the idea of games, fun, and play. While video games will be the prominent them, Art of Play 5 will also exhibit works that explore more traditional games and toys.” (column.edu)
On February 11th, my “HEADGEAR” series was featured at a showcase held by the Chicago Asian American Institute. The exhibition shared works from various Chicago Asian Americans. CHEEEEEEEE!!!

On February 2nd Loosey Goosey and The Infusion Project collaborated to set up an art show at the Beauty Bar in Wicker Park, Chicago. The night was a complete success, with artists selling their work and the floor dancing all night long. Loosey Goosey presented volume II’s featured artist Kathleen Boudwin and showcased a sneak peek at the upcoming issue. If you didn’t make it, don’t worry, there will be plenty more to come! In the mean time we have some photos by Sergio Silva and a video put together by Chris Cook and Joseph Crawford.
PART 1: BEAUTY BAR ART SHOW
On February 2nd, Jesse Lankford of Loosey Goosey Zine collaborated with California-based The Infusion Project to host a series of showcases throughout out Chicago.
The “Art Show” at Beauty Bar Cafe featured Remo (me) of the Tribe, along with good friend Kathleen Boudwin. Child-homie Kevin Hsia surprised the night by opened the night with some tunes.

Apologies for the lack of recapping what’s been going down. For the most part, Tribe’s been busy getting involved with our comrades through various collaborations, showcases, freelancing, and even personal works.

Tribe has been in slumber mode for some time now. This is the first activity WMDT will be contributing to in 2012.
Please roll through and support Remo (WMDT) and our close friend Kathleen Boudwin who will be contributing work at the Beauty Bar Art Show hosted by Loosey-Goosey Zine and The Infusion Project.
Remo will be sharing new work since his recovery from a bike accident in September that had left him unable to draw with his left hand. This short series are inspired from his ambidextrous sketches during his time he was unable to draw.

Asian Student Org (Columbia College Chicago) will be hosting the 5th annual exhibition at Boba Bar Cafe, located in Chinatown. Visitors will have the opportunity to see work of various members of Wild Man Design Tribe (WMDT) and other artists over a panel of musical performances.
If you love art, music, and especially Bubble Tea…and possibly WMDT, come through Saturday, December 3rd.

MADE THIS COMIC FOR CLASS ABOUT A TIME I GOT DRUNK AND STARTED WRESTLING MY FRIEND, AND ENDED UP WITH A BIG GASH ON MY HEAD. 4 STAPLES. WE HAD TO WRITE A STORY ABOUT A TIME WE DIDNT REMEMBER AND ABOUT 3/4 OF THE CLASS ENDED UP WITH SOME DRUNKEN STORY… MY STORY WAS KINDA RUSHED DUE TO LACK OF TIME, BUT I THINK IT TURNED OUT PRETTY GOOD FOR ANOTHER DRUNK STORY, BUT I LET THE IMAGES DO THE TALKING AND WITH LITTLE TEXT AS POSSIBLE. LAYING OUT 29 PANELS SUCKED!
