As a collective of creative warriors, we create for the fulfillment of our true behavior not found in classes or clientele work. Without the compromise of attitude, breath, and soul, we present opportunities of collaboration and exhibitions in order to push the Creative Warrior Movement.

BLUE WARRIOR CTA SKETCH SERIESILLUSTRATION | 2010
This exercise is very much premature but at his point in 2012, it’s not right to revisit. The illustration had more thought and direction as I began to refine the subject. I only wish I put more time into it, as I began to find a purpose behind the subject.

TRIBE HAND CTA SKETCH SERIES ILLUSTRATION | 2010
In 2010, I began studying subconscious/spontaneous sketching. The purpose was to explore problem solving of composition and purpose when presented with an unpredicted mark. It’s almost like chiseling at random until a perspective is found.
I would jump on the Chicago Transit Authority (CTA), commute to school, and begin scribbling shapes and motion. Prisma markers were then used to bleed the pen and create more depth.

This is an illustration I did a couple months ago that I finally scanned. I’ve been pursuing a series of paintings and illustrations titled “headgear.” Unintentionally, my illustrations study the history of headdresses worn by woman of various cultures. As you can see, it may not directly be a replication, but rather hints of inspirations and question.

Many of you seen these sketches from my ambidextrous sketchbook. I recently have been quite inspired by the geometric style that emerged from that year.

Many of our comrades are graduating this year. This current semester, it seems as though everyone’s been stepping up their steez and going all out on their work. Expanding skills, pushing boundaries, experimenting various compositions, and going Tribe on the detail.
Check out Chris Dazzo (WMDT) and what he was working out…

My paintings that showcased at “THUS I BECAME A WILD MAN” back in 2011 finally got back up on the wall. For all those questions, there was a 4th canvas that showed him holding a fork. There wasn’t enough room….

I was going through my archives and found a throw back picture of me back in 2008 shot by photographer Conor Wooten.
Time is a ridiculous thing. 2008 was when Wild Man Design Tribe was born. I look at my self in the picture and wonder what the hell was I doing. I seriously can’t understand what was going through my head those days…

Check out our homie 102. When we started bombing, we came across some punk that forced upon us a collaboration just like the photo. It’s funny how things work out. These days he’s kicking it with the Tribe.

This is a sticker collab I did with my friends from Wild Mad Design Tribe over Christmas break while I was back in Madrid. The WMDT sticker is over Madrid’s emblem of the bear and madroño + 102 sticker.

On February 15th, Adam Jasen of WMDT featured works in Columbia College’s exhibition “Art of Play 5.” Contact Adam Jansen if interested in purchasing prints

“Now in it’s 5th year, the purpose of Art of Play is to explore the idea of games, fun, and play. While video games will be the prominent them, Art of Play 5 will also exhibit works that explore more traditional games and toys.” (column.edu)

On February 11th, my “HEADGEAR” series was featured at a showcase held by the Chicago Asian American Institute. The exhibition shared works from various Chicago Asian Americans. CHEEEEEEEE!!!

Much love and thanks to the Tribe’s homie, Kiyomi Negi-Tran and Katherine Rivera for the opportunity.

If you haven’t seen my paintings in person, they will be up the month of February at Heartland Cafe located in Roger’s Park.
